Paper Quilted Father’s Day

When I saw this week's Atlantic Heart's Sketch, I wanted to try to recreate the design using my GelliArts prints.

Since I wanted to make a Father's Day Card, I decided to use the masculine hues from this week's Color Throwdown Challenge.  I chose three olive prints & three grey prints and cut them into one-half inch strips.

I used the sketch to inform my layout of the strips, using three inch strips.

I used a wood-block Father's Day Sentiment from Northwoods Rubber Stamps.  Rather than the flowers of the sketch, I used die cut gears from Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations Gearheads for my masculine design.

  3. This is very cool! I love your background–I am not sure I would have the patience to create that, but it looks awesome. Great idea to use the gears for a masculine feel! Thanks for playing with the Atlantic Hearts this week!
