Let’s Hear it for the Boys

The current challenge at Shopping Our Stash is Let's Hear it for the Boys – make a masculine card.

I shopped all sorts of things in my stash for this Father's Day Card.  I started with some papers from the BasicGrey Hey Boy Collection (one as my base and an orange piece for the cassette tapes & measuring tool).

Next I pulled out a rejected Gelliprint (which is why I save the rejects) to cut out some gears using Tim Holtz Thinlets Gearhead Dies, which is where I started my collage.

Next I used a circle punch on badges from a page from a vintage Boy Scout Handbook.  I also cut out some text from the page & an illustration and incorporated both of those.

Next came an assortment of stickers from my stash including an ice cold glass of beer.

I finished with by stamping a Happy Father's Day sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Mom and Dad Icons.

With all of those fun gel printed gears and the vintage elements (and a little subtle snark if you knew the recipient), I'm also linking-up at the Steampunk Challenge at Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.
