The creation of this card was a bit of a comedy of errors. It started with a plan to make a masculine birthday card for the Reverse Confetti May Stock Your Stash Challenge.
I thought it would be fun to make a masculine plaid using the Plaid Lines Big Confetti Cut Die. I used the colors from The Paper Players Color Challenge and cut it from grey & red cardstock only to realize that I needed the Plaid Lines Small Confetti Cut Die to produce a plaid background (which I do not have … into the shopping cart it goes).
So after putzing around for a while, I realized if I rotated one of the pieces and trimmed it down to a square I could product a plaid-like effect, but it looked a bit plain.
So I got the bright idea to use the Edge Essentials Confetti Cuts to emboss some interest into the plaid … not realizing they would cut all the way through. Since I had cut off one side, I flipped them and cut off the other and ended-up with this sort of cool plaid rectangle.
I used a sentiment from Reverse Confetti Birthday Wishes and finished with a few black enamel dots.
I'm also joining the Global Design Project where this week's theme is Birthday.
