Top 10 Favorites of 2020

Each year I like to go back and revisit all the art I made and choose my ten favorites from the group (You can see my Five Favorite Holiday Cards of 2020 here) … here are my favorites in no particular order.

1.  One of the highlights of 2020 was the opportunity to have my week as a Growing in Unity Girl.  I got to design with Unity Stamp Company all week, and the favorite card I made was one using collaboration Wreath Builder Stamp sets that Unity created with Gina K. Designs … I just love that color combination and the combination of all of the different types of leaves.

2.  I am pretty proud of my coloring and watercoloring to create this adorable little scene … certainly outside of my comfort zone but inspired by my friend the coloring master Sam.  On of the best things of 2020 was trying new crafty things.

3.  One of the sad things that happened in 2020 was that Kim Hughes closed Paper Smooches.  I have been creating with Kim's stamps for as long as she has been designing them (even before Paper Smooches) and I was sad to see the end of an era.  This Boba Card was a favorite of 2020 because it celebrates Kim … as well as the joy of sharing Boba with my sister.

4.  Another highlight of 2020 was getting to Guest Design for the amazing Ink Pad store in New York City using foils with their exclusive Michelle Ward Stamps & Stencils (and having my cards on display in their store).  Can't wait until I can come visit again and see their new space.

5. These Alcohol Ink Rainbows were a labor of love.  I  had so much fun making all of the Alcohol Ink Backgrounds during one of my Saturday video calls (friends suggested adding the foil, a technique I had totally forgotten).  The finished cards were mailed to those friends (and My Favorite Things brought back that awesome Die-namic).

7. I loved that I was able to turn the leftovers from my Alcohol Ink Die Cuts into another favorite card … that Dog Rose Die has my heart (a purchase I made inspired by the talented SkyPaperScissors … and I always swoon at a chance to use dictionary pages.

8. I had a blast Guest Designing for the Jaded Blossom I Love the 80's Release … it was right-up my alley (recreating my junior high and high school years) … loved the neon and those super-fun glasses dies.

9. These Modern Mosaic Cards made with paper punched circles inspired by DearPaperlicious were so relaxing to make … and I loved the end-result.  So modern & fun.

10.  And this card pretty much sums up a large part of 2020.  I had a lot of fun designing for {a vintage girl} & her daughter sticker shop this year (remember SMILYNSTEF discount code at check-out gets you 10% off)

Wow, it took me several passes to narrow down to 10 (which is a sign of an awesome creative year).  I hope 2021 has even more creating super-fun.
