I mentioned on this morning's carfty call that I wanted to do a card for the September #TEMaker Challenge at Taylored Expressions, but that one of the elements was that the card needed to be interactive, which usually isn't my thing (I think it's mostly because they require precision to work correctly, and that's not my strong suit).
But of course, my crafty girlfriends came to the rescue by suggesting an Easel Card, which was perfect for the new to me Taylored Expressions Cutting Edge Ghosts & Die Combo stamp set … but note to self, do not use your 110 pound cardstock for your base when you're going to be adding lots of layers and trimming (my paper cuter said … no way … so there was a lot of hand-cutting).
Here's how the card looks when you open it.
I used one of the sentiments from the same set and went to my eyeball drawer (doesn't ever good crafter have an eyeball drawer) and added lots of fun eye-embellishments to my ghosties. Since the them was embellishments, I also added some coordinating enamel dots.
Here is how it looks in Easel Position … with the heavy cardstock and layers on my card front, I had to make my Easel Ledge several layers thick, so it would hold everything in place.
I added another of the adorable sentiments from the Cutting Edge – Ghosts set to the inside … I absolutely love how this turned out (and one more Halloween card into the stash … I'm about 1/3 of the way to the total I need to get in the mail).
I'm also linking-up at a new to me challenge blog – The Spot – where the them is to make a card with your favorite fold.
