I grew-up in the town with an annual Maple Leaf Festival … and I had a special affinity for the large maple tree in our back yard that held our tire swing and changed beautiful shades of red, orange and yellow each autumn.
However, one of my favorite trees was the large oak tree by my Grandma's house. Without air conditioning, the shade of that tree brought welcome respite from the heat. It also held a wooden swing that I loved to see how high I could go before the ropes buckled (noticing a theme).
So for the CAS Watercolor October Leaf Challenge, I chose the Mondo Oak Leaf (and a couple of acorns) from Essentials by Ellen as an ode to my favorite tree. The sentiment is from Essentials by Ellen Lovely (which has apparently been retired).
I stamped them on kraft and then painted with several shades of my shimmery watercolors.
My layout is a rather loose interpretation of this week's Freshly Made Sketch (placement of the 3 elements and sentiment)
The Male Room is also asking for CAS Designs.

I love oak trees too, Steph, and these are wonderful oak leaves and acorns. Wish they were maple leaves, but today I’m thankful for any shade! Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Watercolour!
