Dad came this weekend to help us unpack, hang art, and get moved back into our home. For those who have missed the ordeal, about six weeks ago a pipe split overnight in the room adjoining our home and flooded our first floor (aka my studio, living room & kitchen). After floor replacement, dry wall repair, painting and cabinet repair, we finally got our stuff returned from storage.
Unfortunately, this was what I found when I opened each box. Rather than leaving my supplies in their organized storage containers, the movers dumped everything out (seriously who dumps a storage container of ribbon … paper flowers … you name it) … what a mess it will be to try to restore my studio.
It will be like starting from scratch to reorganize my stuff … and probably be a little while until I am making cards again … yep, my well-organized stamps and die cuts are now all dumped together randomly in boxes (and of course I have few pictures of how I had it organized, so it's like a game of Tetris to figure out where it all fits).
Thankfully Dad helped me keep my cool and move forward with tackling what we could … like putting my cardstock back in the racks (which thankfully I had packed-up myself).
And hanging art … this wall behind one of my studio tables is filled with art from friends and makes me happy.
Dad and I also took some time out to enjoy a little Vivian's Soul Food … I do love fried chicken (and that cabbage had a fabulous spicy kick).
More organizing to come …

yikes!! who packs like that?? so sad you have to organize all over but, you might find some fun items you forgot about?? 😉
I’m sorry you’re saddled with such a mess — following the initial plumbing mess! After many household moves, I have learned that too many movers need instruction (a lot of it, and on every detail) and supervision (aka hovering). I hope you share your photos with the moving company.
