Today was my second day of fused glass class at Wapsi Glassworks. The first thing I got to do was remove my pieces from last week from the kiln. The squares on the outer edges that were closer to the heating element rounded a bit more than those in the center.
So the rounder ones at the top were destined for earrings & a pendant, while the more uniform pieces were going to be my bracelet.
A little E6000, and everything came together. We cut apart a pin-back to create a way to make a pendant from the extra two rounder pieces.
Next I moved on to my dichroic piece from last week and learning how to use a wet glass saw. I decided to start by cutting my piece into thirds along the silver pieces for symmetry.
I loved playing with the power tools.

Next I cut the end pieces into earrings & a matching pendant.
I loved the middle piece so much, I couldn't bear to saw it up … so I mounted it on teal glass to hang on my studio wall. Back into the kiln they go for a fire polish of the edges … and next week I'll attach the hardware.
