Crackerbox and My Sweet Petunia (MISTI) Blog Hop

Today the My Sweet Petunia MISTI Design Team is hopping with the Design Team and stamps from Crackerbox & So Suzy Stamps.  I didn't have any of their stamps in my collection, so I had a lot of fun browsing the gallery to pick some of my favorites.

When I saw this You're Drunk sentiment, it made me laugh out loud, so I knew I had to create with it.

I paired it with the fun Shoe Border that I turned into a Shoe Background with the help of my MISTI.  I had planned to keep my stamp in place and move my paper, but I actually ended-up using the lid on my MISTI to line-up and move my stamp … I wanted to shift each line to alternate the shoes.  I used my creative corner to keep my paper in place.

When I finished, my background looked like this.

I trimmed the extra shoes off each side and ended-up with my 5×5 shoe background.  I used two circle punches to create the black ring to feature a single shoe.

I trimmed my sentiment into two pieces and added a wrap of red ribbon to complete my design.

Next I feel in love with this fun sentiment image combination – the Saddle and Courage.

To make everything fit on my tag, I needed the sentiment to be right along the bottom.  I started by positioning my tag with my creative corner at the bottom.

Next I moved my creative corner to the top of my tag, so I would have space to position my sentiment at the bottom of the tag (see how the stamp itself hangs over the end of the tag).

I used my lid to make sure I had the text straight after picking up the stamp.

I created my background by spraying kraft cardstock with water & wadding it up several times.  Next I did direct-to-paper with several Distress Inks and some Distress Stain.  Then I embossed with a swirls embossing powder and added more ink until I got the look I wanted.

I finished with some twine for my tag & attached it with foam tape.

My final stamp combination is this adorable Cat with Sign … and lots of stamps from the store that fit perfectly on the sign.

Cracker14wm

For my first one I stamped him in Grey … I positioned him in the center, so I could trim along the bottom.

Cracker10wm

Next I positioned my sentiment where I wanted it on the sign & then used my MISTI to stamp it perfectly the first time.

Cracker11wm

I used my Spectrum Noir Markers to add a bit of pink to his ears and nose and some teal for his eyes.

The You Set of 5 Stamps are perfect for the sign … as is the Oops! and Tiny Get Well Soon … isn't he adorable.

  3. Stephanie what a wonderful ecectic mix of cards you’ve shared with us today. Love them all. Love the shoes and how you alternated them when stamping and that great sentiment. I have a wine drinking shoe loving friend this would be perfect for. The courage tag/card is awesome and I love the embossed background as well as the saddle. Your final cards showcasing this delightful kitty make me smile. So sweet. Thanks for sharing your whimsy and talents. Very inspiring.

  4. ROFL I must make the drunk card for my sister, she will hate it but it’s so true :). I love the background for your Courage tag, it is very cool, I’m going to try and follow your instructions to re-create it. Of course, the cat is beautiful but I do love all animals so I might be a little swayed by that one lol. Thanks for sharing.
