CUTplorations Phrase Dies

I am thrilled to have the opportunity to design for the new Say It Big Phrase Die release at STAMPlorations.

The new Dies are also perfect for the April Challenge … FOCUS on the SENTIMENTS.

April

Shery is the queen of the word dies, and I particularly like how she has welded these sentiments into a single piece of paper (no hunting for that missing dot for your *I*).

For my first card, I started by creating a collage of stamping using three Distress Oxide Inks (Bundled Sage, Peacock Feathers and Hickory Smoke) with STAMPlorations Mixed Media Elements stamps using my MISTI on a robin's egg blue card base.

My MISTI makes it easy to create those layers.

Next I cut my Art Happens Phrase Die out of a scrap of textured designer paper and then finished with a few sequins.CUTPhrase1

For my second card, I die cut three Life Is Good Phrase Sentiments and layered them for dimension.

Then I attached them to a CUTplorations Luggage Tag cut from some of my hand-marbled paper … love those springy colors.

The final card uses another three-layer sentiment You Are My Sunshine for dimension … this time from black cardstock.

I attached it to a marbled card base in Iowa Hawkeye colors of Black & Gold.

  1. Love that you pointed out the detail about the dot on the I being part of the design — such a smart idea. Lovely cards Stef.

  2. Your first card is another reason why I need a Misti! haha I have the mixed media set, but have barely touched it not knowing what looks good where. Love your artsy cards.
