My Sweet Petunia MISTI & Kitchen Sink Stamps Blog Hop

I am thrilled to be joining the Blog Hop with the My Sweet Petunia MISTI team and Kitchen Sink Stamps.

The Hop is coinciding with the Kitchen Sink Stamps 10th Anniversary Sale … they are offering 35% off all items in stock and Free Shipping at $65 (US Only)  The Sale Excludes Out of Stock and Special Order/Retired Items.  The Coupon Code KSSDECADE is good through Sept. 25th – 29th (midnight PDT)

I was given the Plaid Plus! Stamp set to create with (thanks so much KSS).  I love plaid and stripes, and the MISTI give you so many possibilities.

I started by stasmping the Three-Row Stripe from the set three times in Sunkissed Orange from AlteNew … I keep my stamp in the same place on my 12" MISTI and move the paper vertically to cover it.

Next, I trimmed and rotated my paper so I could do the same stamping the other direction using the Darker Autumn Blaze Ink.

For me, this plaid screams autumn, so I added some fun Pumpkin Washi Tape & Pumpkin Brads from Eyelet Outlet, together with a sentiment sticker.  I finished my design with some matte black enamel dots.

For my next plaid, I combined Lucky Clover & Peacock Fethers Distress Oxide Ink.  This time I created by Plaid by rotating my paper four ways and stamping on each edge.  Then I positioned the center piece of the plaid and stamped two more times.

Here are both Plaid pieces for a combined view.  I purposefully left my ink a bit blotchy because I thought it made it feel more like *flannel* plaid.

I used my second plaid for a fun birthday card design (because plaids are perfect for any occasion).  I love that this could be masculine or feminine with these hues.

In addition to making plaid, you can also just go with the stripes.  For this card, I stamped the Double Stripe from Plaid Plus! in Vermilion and the Stars in Indigo.

Then I used the stripes with this week's CAS(E) this Sketch.

The sentiment is from another Kitchen Sink Stamp Set – 3 Step Baseball.  I finished with a few silver star embellishments.

The prizes for this hope are amazing … one winner will get a $50 Gift Certificate to Kitchen Sink Stamps … the second winner will get their choice of a standard or mini MISTI.  Everyone who comments on every stop on the hop will be entered to win one of the two prizes.  Commenting deadline is 11pm CST on October 2nd and winners will be announced on October 3rd on the My Sweet Petunia and Kitchen Sink Stamps blogs.

Have fun hopping.

  1. I love plaids and always have a hard time matching colors. This is the perfect technique for matching my plaids to my plain cardstock (and getting the lines straight at the same time)!

  9. How awesome to showcase this stamp on so many cards- your ideas are fabulous! Love the sketch card. This is also a great idea to find a plaid in a color to match a card- I always have such difficulty with that! Awesome!

  10. I like all the different ways you used the plaid stamp set. I usually think of Scotland and my grandmother when I think of plaid, but I love how you showed a lot of other options with it. So pretty!
