The theme at the CAS Mix Up Card Challenge is Marbling.
I picked-up some cheap blue, green & white nail polish at the Dollar Tree and poured it on top of a few inches of water in a disposable plastic pan (make sure your area is well ventilated & you might want to wear gloves). I used a wooden skewer to blend the paint and then placed my watercolor paper face down in the water to pick-up the polish.
After the paper dried, I die cut my fun little Dreamweaver Nesting owl (My your choice element was die-cutting) and pieced him back together on the white cardstock. I added some white epoxy dots for his eyes.
I put him on a Lawn Fawn wood grain card based with a stamped sentiment.

Your marbled die cut owl is Ingenious Stef. TFS and joining us at CAS Mix Up. Hugs, nancy
I LOVE your owl, Stef! Your marbling is fantastic! Love the colors and swirl pattern! Working in a well ventilated area is a must. When I tried using nail polish the whole house smelled bad! It sure makes a pretty piece though. Thanks so much for sharing this with us at CAS Mix Up!
this looks fabulous and sounds like a lot of fun; love the eyes too!
Your marbled owl looks amazing, Stephanie!
I tried this technique once, but after spending almost half of my 3 or 4 bottles I only had a tiny piece of marbled cardstock, so I gave up. But maybe I could still try to put that tiny piece to good use for this month’s challenge, if I can find it…
What a creative idea to use nail polish! Your die cut owl is adorable!
Your owl is gorgeous Stef. Great job with marbling. I can imagine that it was a bit smelly from the nail polish and messy to clean up too, but glad you did because this is a really beautiful piece of marbling. LOVE the colours. Thanks so much for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up!
He’s gorgeous,Stef, the colors are so bold! Haven’t tried the nail polish yet, but you’ve inspired me!
