NYC Cityscape

What a better way to start the New Year than with some watercolor fun.  I just love getting messy in my studio.

Today's SplitcoastStampers Inspiration Challenge is a gorgeous Etsy Store called The Wildlands.  I chose this gorgeous NYC Cityscape to inspire my design.

I started by die cutting my MFT New York Skyline Die-namics from a discarded piece of watercolor paper.  Next I sprayed it liberally with water and started dropping on Color Burst Watercolor powders and dabbing with a paper towel until I got the effect I wanted.  Next I dried the paper with my heat gun before attaching it to white cardstock.

I saturated my paint brush with green watercolor from my Zig Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors to add the splatters.  Once it was dry, I attached to a green cardstock base to frame the design.
