For this week's Jingle Belles card, I still took my inspiration from those fantastic colors using Lobster and Peacock in from Lawn Fawn.
The Red Snowflake reminded me of a Poinsettia, so that is what i used for my focal point. My card was also inspired by this beauty by Karen Dunbrook as the Guest Designer at STAMPlorations CASEplorations Challenge.
I started by sponging the Peacock ink through Punchinella (the ribbon that is left over after sequins are made).
Next I attached all four sentiments from Holiday Sketches Christmas flower on a single clear block and stamped them in Black Ink.
I stamped and embossed the poinsettia twice, the first time cutting out the entire flower and the second time cutting out the inner petals to add some dimension. I colored the poinsettia using the Lobster ink with water and a paintbrush.
Is it wrong that I want to make all of the rest of my holiday cards in these colors … just love them.

oh how i LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE (love love!!!) this card! the inky goodness! the sentiment stack! the poinsettia!!! & yeah those colors are pretty darned fab! (what a cool idea of having an overall theme for singley-made-all-year xmas cards… like a color or a sentiment or… some element that unifies them as that year’s cards!) (not that i think *I* could pull that off b/c i’m the queen of short attention spans, but it’s such an interesting concept!) 🙂
