An Old Fashioned Christmas

We're going for a vintage vibe at Jingle Belles this week … creating cards with a vintage feel or incorporating vintage elements into the design (or heck, throw caution to the wind and do both like I did).

I started with the colors from The Paper Players because I thought the muted tones would be great for a vintage feel.

Next I pulled out stamps and die cuts from Impression Obsession, so I could join their Christmas in July Challenge (I was so excited to win their June Celebrate You Challenge with my Marshmallow card).

I stamped Christmas Word Background in My Favorite Things Spearmint Ink (I was so thrilled to finally find a Minty Ink).  I distressed the edges and added a bit more ink to frame the words.  I attached it at an angle to my Smoky Slate card base using this week's Retro Sketch.

I stamped white cardstock with IO's Cover-A-Card Canvas and die cut my circle.  Next I added a wrap of minty gauzy ribbon.  I mounted my vintage sentiment on cardstock for strength (vintage papers are weaker and may tear more easily when adhering) and finished with two die cut Jingle Belles from Impression Obsession's Christmas Icons.

It's also Christmas in July at the Sweet Stampin' Challenge.

Our prompt at Jingle Belles is sponsored by Lauren's Etsy Store Just Enough Stuff, so may sure you join us for a chance to win some goodies.

  1. I love this, Stephanie! Nice, crisp layers and a great take on both challenges. Thanks so much for playing along with us this week at The Paper Players!
