Focus to See the Light

Since I added some new Stamplorations Stamps to my stash (and I have more on the way … did you see these fabulous new shoe stamps in their latest release … you know I couldn't pass those up), I wanted to join their Sketch Challenge.

This sentiment is from a set called Typographia-Encouragement stamped in Delicata Gold Metallic Ink and embossed with Gold Detail embossing powder.  I love how the slightly *messy* font means I don't have to worry about a stray fleck-or-two of embossing powder.

My inspiration came from this week's Cure for the Monday Blues Challenge.

Cure For The Monday Blues #39

I knew I wanted to combine gold, white & black … and include some awesome polka dots, which I created using my Hero Arts White Ink Dauber on metallic gold cardstock (love that the dauber is tiny enough to create fun dots).  I covered my paper with free-handed-placed dots … and then went back and dotted a second time for a bit more white contrast (and a bit more bokeh look to the design).

Stars seemed like the right embellishment for a *light-themed* sentiment.  I used three different sized star punches and added a second gold metallic paper for a bit of contrast.

Since I used my never-before-inked stamp, I'm also linking-up at Darnell's NBUS (Never Before Used Schtuff) Challenge.
