When I saw this week's Retro Sketch layout, I knew it was perfect for another one of my favorite Pattern Paper techniques (for Virginia's View Pattern Paper Challenge) … using pattern paper scraps.
I keep all of my patterned paper scraps in a 12×12 storage box. I decided on a color palette of light blue, light green and yellow (for a baby card), so I pulled out any scraps that I thought would work together, which even included some K&Company packaging.
Next I cut the papers into strips using a variety of widths.
The final step was using the sketch layout to assemble my card.
The paper packaging turned out to be the perfect strip for my SRM Baby Sentiment. I added some felt stickers and a piece of flair, and this card came together quickly. By using a cohesive color palette, it's easy to make lots of different patterned papers work together seamlessly.
My card is also inspired by the Tuesday Throwdown where the theme is Sweet Little One.

love seeing the process…this turned out wonderful!
Fabulous work with all those scraps, Steph! I love it when I can use up something left over instead of throwing it out. Great job with that sketch. We’re delighted that you chose to enter our “Sweet Little One” challenge at Tuesday Throwdown this week. Good luck and come play again, won’t you?

Love how you’ve worked the scraps. Reminds me of a baby’s nursery. Just beautiful! So glad you joined Tuesday Throwdown challenge.
