Tonight I traded in my Clean & Graphic style for Inky & Artsy as I worked through some of the lessons from Stretch Your Stamps 2.
Thie background technique that was showcased by Lisa Spangler in the Day 1 Class is a version of a Batik Technique I learned years ago, but it was fun to try it with spray mists and flicking bits of ink onto the ironed background.
The inspiration for my card came from this gorgeous card by Anita at the TIME OUT Challenge. I loved how those beautiful colors contrasted with the white & the resist background effect.
I stamped Hero Arts Leaf and Floral Background with White Pigment Ink and clear embossed. Next I sprayed on Heidi Swapp Teal Color Shine mist.
After ironing off the embossing powder, I tapped on dots of Stream Colorwash Spray and then added a few sprays of Heidi Swapp's Mint Green Color Shine.
The layout is this week's Freshly Made Sketch. The strips are pieces of the white cardstock that I trimmed from my main image that were sprayed with both Heidi Swapp colors. Here's an angle where you can better see the gorgeous shimmer of this card.
I finished with a Unity Candles & Cake Sentiment and a few epoxy dots.
