For our next day in Pittsburgh, we decided to walk to the Contemporary Craft Museum … what a fabulous morning walk. We saw this fabulous Bronze Fountain and Granite Eye Ball *seats* at Katz Plaza on our walk (you can follow-me on Instagram – SmilynStef – to see more photos of our trip).
The current exhibit at Contemporary Craft is called Transformation 9: Contemporary Works in Ceramics. The show is free … and the gift shop is fantastic (and the proceeds support the arts) ,,, what a win-win.
These were a few of my favorite pieces from the show. The first is called Scape IV, a Ceramic Collage by Lee Somers. I love art that repurposes broken things and gives them new life.
This bustier called Cinched In by Shalene Valenzuela was also fantastic.
The gift store had lots of fun art as well … like this fun jewelry made from Barbie Doll parts.
The docent at the arts center recommended Coiangelo's Bakery tucked away on a side street in the Strip District for lunch … and she did not stear us wrong. The Monday Special was Pasta Bolognase and it was fantastic (as were our cookies for dessert).
It was a great way to end our stay in Pittsburgh.
