Today's Tag of Christmas with a Feminine Twist is mixed media magic by Ronda Palazzari. While I admire this style of design, it's not one that comes easy for me. However, that's the joy of this holiday series … getting to try lots of different creative styles.
I covered a chipboard tag with vintage sheet music and began layering on paints, stains and sprays until I got a look I liked. Next, I tried senciling with paint, but it was just blotchy … so I wiped it into the paint and instead I stenciled with Hero Arts Unicorn ink through punchinella and got better contrast. I used Grey Flannel Luxe ink to stamp some ornate snowflakes on the background.
I didn't have any chipboard birds, so I die cut this Christmas Cardinal from striped grunge board and then covered it with paint, sprays, inks and Christmas Red Stickles.
I finished with some punched branches, red pearl *berries* and a Hero Arts Sentiment stamped on a piece of vintage paper.
I wouldn't call this my best design work … but I had fun … and the fact that I will still have inky fingers at the office tomorrow will make me smile.
I'm also joining the Loves Rubberstamps Anything Goes Challenge.
