Bells of Christmas

Since I went with the Sleigh theme for last week's Jingle Belles card for the Sleigh Bells Ring prompt, I was determined to use at least one of the other elements (bells or sheet music) this week … and ended-up using both.

I started by wandering through my vintage sheet music collection (lucky me has a friend who is a piano player who saves me anything she's not using) and I found this great holiday song page.  Unfortunately, it was much too large for a card, and I couldn't figure out any portion of the page that would work without losing the overall field … so I scanned the aged vintage paper in color (keeping its wonderful hue) and resized it to card front size.

Next, I added some digital jingle bells holly to the corners and printed.  I finished by adding colored pencil highlights to the vintage illustration … love when a flat mailable card looks this good (and could easily be reproduced for a set).

  1. I would never, never guess that those bells weren’t 3D! This is crazy cool, Stephanie – thanks so much for letting me come play 🙂
