This week's SCS Inspiration Challenge comes from MacKenzie-Childs, which was born of out of a love of home and our commitment to fresh, innovative design. I chose this Audrey Bag to inspire my design. I love the contrast of the design elements on the black background & all of the fun patterns & colors.
I wanted a woven-like background for my card, so I embossed black textured cardstock with an Arrow embossing folder from James' Set. I wanted a similar black & white pattern for my flowers, so I stamped the Envelope Pattern in India Ink on white cardstock to use for some of my blooms.
I mixed in brushed gold & kraft papers, as well as black felt flowers and lots of different brads. I finished with a sentiment from the new Hero Arts Thanks a Bunch set.
I'm also joining in the *try something new* challenge at Hero Arts since this is a color combination (particularly the tan flowers) that I never would have done without this inspiration … also I never would have thought of using the envelope pattern for punched blooms, but I love the effect.
And it's the first week of 52-Card Pick-up for 2013.
I hope you find inspiration.
