12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist

This afternoon I made a holiday tag inspired by Julia Stainton's card for Day 7 of 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist.  I love all of the wonderful embossing & glitter, so that's what I tried to incorporate in my tag design.

I tried Julia's background technique using Distress Stain, but I kept getting ink in the debossed areas (which looked okay … just wasn't what I was looking for), so instead I tried Broken China Distress Ink which gave me the white contrast of the snowflakes I was hoping for.  I couldn't find my holographic embossing powder, so I used a violet interference powder instead that gave it a very cool effect … I tried to show it a bit more here … the ink changes color as you move it.

I layered a Stampin' Up Felt snowflake with a Jolee's Glittery Snowflake sticker.  I finished with some foam thickers and dabbed on lots of Arctic Ice stickles for more glittery sparkle.

I'm joining in with Christmas Themed Gift Tags at Party Time Tuesdays & the Embossing Challenge at Just Us Girls (I used a combination of dry & heat embossing in my design).

Here's Julie's gorgeous tag I used for my inspiration:
