12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist

Over at The Classroom, they are celebrating the 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist with lots of fabulous prizes up for grabs.  My tag tonight was inspired by this fun tag by Claudine Helmuth.  I actually got to ride the shuttle bus from the airport to Donna Downey's Inspired event with Claudine … love her lively and fun spirit … which shows through in her design.

Claudine painted her tag … I covered my tag with color too, but used Victorian Velvet Distress Stain & Old Lace Glimmer Mist for an all-over sparkle.  She painted polka dots in her sky … I used a glitter pen to create the sparkle of snow on a star-filled night.  I tried to capture the sparkle a bit better in this shot.

I loved the sheet music element of her design, so I went through my vintage collection and added a page from a Christmas song book that I tore along the top.  I also incorporated a tag-like sentiment (mine is a ticket sentiment stamped on another manila tag & detail cut) and several layers of washi & tissue tape for a wrap of color.  The colors of my design are inspired by this week's CR84FN Challenge.

I stamped the Savvy Let It Snowman (that guy reminds me of how I feel the first time it snows for the season … love it)  once on the tag (so I didn't have to cut out those stick arms) and a second time on ivory cardstock to detail cut.

I stamped a third time to cut out the scarf, which I covered with the same washi tape I used below on the card … I only attached the part around the neck with tiny glue dots so the tails of the scarf look like they're blowing in the wind..  I'm also joining in at The Paper Players where Anne's theme this week is Snowmen.  Here's Claudine's Tag that inspired me.

  1. Stef, this is fabulous! You definitely have a keen eye for putting the perfect elements together to create a stunning project. Sweet fussy cutting on the scarf and great idea to stamp the snowman on the tag….cutting those twig arms would be tricky!
