Glitter is usually the one crafting supply I avoid like the plague … I'm a messy crafter by nature, and the thought of the total disaster I could create with glitter has kept it out of my crafting supply arsenel.
However, after I saw more and more velvety glitter creations made wtih Glitter Ritz Glitters, I had a moment of weakness and picked-up a few colors on my recent trip to Stamp Thyme … but they have sat on my craft table unopened until today.
It's a Virtual Stamp Weekend at SplitCoast Stampers, so I wanted to join the fun. Most of my creative time is in solitude, so I enjoyt he opportunity to create with others, even if it is virtually across the miles. The Don't Get Caught Day Dreaming Challenge was to create a card using the Glitter Window Technique, so I decided it was time to get past my glitter phobia and give it a try.
I had purchased these MFT Inspired By Butterfly stamps and coordinating Die-Namics quite a while ago, and it gave me the opportunity to give them a try as well.
Unofortunately, the lightest color I had was this rather opaque Peacock Blue, so it's a bit challenging to see the butterfly behind the packing tape window, but trust me … it's there if you look close (and if you look close you can also see all of the tiny bits of stray glitter stick to my embossed paper … oh well, I'll dust it a few more times before I put it in the mail).
I will confess I took my glitter to the kitchen cabinet, so I could contain the mess a bit more … and there was a bit of a mess, but it cleaned-up quickly (just don't notice if there's a bit of glitter in the hamburgers tonight).
So thanks to Lori for a bit of messy creative fun this afternoon.

I can relate to the glitter in the hamburgers!
