Dogwood Sympathy

Most of the Paper Smooches stamp sets I have are pretty cutesy, so tonight I decided to try and create what I will call a *less-cutesy* design using this week's Paper Smooches Sparks Designer Drafts Sketch.

I started with beautiful dogwood designer paper from the Nantucket Collection by Pink Paislee.  Hexagons from GeoGraphic were stamped first in India ink and then over-stamped a second time with Aquamarine ink.  The Sympathy Sentiment was stamped in India ink as well.

I stamped the flower from PotPourri twice in Aquamarine ink on ivory cardstock before detail cutting & foldting.  I finished with a tiny charcoal butterfly and a pearl center for my layered blooms.

Finished card is 4" x 6".  I'm also playing along with the Put A Stamp On it Challenge at Simon Says Stamp.

Tonight I received this picture from my stamping friend Cyndie taken of us standing on the ledge of the Willis (Sears) Tower on our recent visit in Chicago … I will confess I had to back myself onto the ledge and kept my eyes focused on the camera the entire time.

  1. Nice card! Love the paper, colors and your hexagon design is wonderful. I can’t imagine how long it took to work out the pattern and then stamp it. Good job! Sears Tower pic … OMGOSH, I couldn’t have walked out there .. frontwards or backwards! Kudos to you. Nice pic! 🙂
