Today's theme in the Stretch Your Stamps class is alphabets. I tried several of the techniques in the class, but the alphabet stamps I had just weren't bold enough to get the effect I wanted … so I sort of combined two of the techniques to get a look I that made me happy … but needless to say, a big bold alphabet stamp set is on my wish list.

I broke out this Scrabble Alphabet that I bought years ago and must admit was still safely wrapped in its original packaging. I tried stamping in Versamark, clear embossing,a nd then spraying with mists, but the thin lines around the letters just turned into sort of a muddy mess each time I tried (It might of worked better if I had let it dry overnight). So as I was looking at a splotchy scrap of paper left over from my attempts, I wondered what would happen if I stamped over the top using India ink … and voila.
Since they are wooden stamps, I lined them up along edge of a large acrylic block to keep them straight on the paper.

I used my Perfect Pearls Mists in Perfect Copper on a scrap of Basic Grey paper for the background, and added a few more elements including some shimmery copper cardstock for this week's Freshly Made Sketch.
Your perseverance worked, Stef. This turned out great!!! Love It!
