Encouraging Happy Art

I love the challenge of making cards from Scrapbook Page Sketches.  When I saw this week's Sketchy Thursday Layout, I decided to give it a try.

Initially I thought I might use inchies for the photos, but then I remembered these cool Happiness Stickers I picked-up at Artchix Studio that were still in their packaging … time to set those artsy ladies free.

I started with four of the stickers that had a vertical orientation.  I trimmed them and played around with several combinations, but they seemed a bit busy.  I decided to move on to papers … since it's Mix & Match Week at Basic Grey, I picked two different collections ~ Out of Print & Indian Summer ~ that I thought would coordinate with my stickers.

I matted the collage images on green designer paper and then added EAD Designs Polaroid rub-on frames (these are so fun & come in two sizes) to help tone down the busyness as well as tie it all together with the white background.   I finished with a few EAD Designs Stickerz and two vintage buttons from my step-mom's collection.

I think this card is perfect for National Day of Encouragement at the Moxie Fab World Blog… because what can be better than encouraging someone to embrace the happy artist within … creating art like this makes me happy indeed.
