Christmas Mix Tape

This week at Jingle Belles we're looking for cards inspired by holiday tunes.  Since Christmas music and Christmas Caroling are two of my favorite things, I couldn't stick to just one holiday song … so I went with a Christmas Mix Tape theme.

I started with Holly Jolly Christmas papers from Echo Park that Lauren & I picked-up at The Ink Pad (well actually Lauren purchased them & then shared some sheets with me … isn't it awesome having crafty friends).

Since I loved the fun & funky color combination in the musical background paper, I decided to use those colors to create an "Oh Christmas Tree" inspired forest.  When I went searching for a tree, I saw these "yet-to-be-inked" Hero Arts Friendly Flag stamps that reminded me of upside-down little trees.  Then I remembered that one of the challenges at the Hero Arts Blog this month is to make a holiday card using "non-holiday" stamps … score.

For the "star" on the top of my tree, I used the little flower from Hero Arts Sending Smiles Messages that I embellished with some tiny orange bling. The finishing touch was a From The Heart Greetings sentiment .

I am also linking-up with the fine folks at Cute Card Thursday who are also celebrating Trees this week.

The layout is this week's Freshly Made Sketch
