In our ongoing celebration of the joys of childhood at Gingersnap Creations, this week's Random Redhead Challenge is a Tribute to Teens … with instructions to make our cards wicked cool and full of teenage angst.
This month's sponsor at Gingersnap Creation is The Stamping Boutique, and I received this wonderful Emo Alice image to create my design.
I dusted of my digital paper piecing skills for most of the image using Life Designs Spraground Sun Fun Papers (free download) … I love the subtle pattern in her hair. I used PhotoShop to remove the color from one of the paper to get the grey tone that I wanted.
I used colored pencils to add highlights to her hair and color-in her fishnet hose. I finished the design with some adhesive pearls in her skeleton hair embellishment; glitter pen on her eyelid, necklace, and belly button ring; and an EAD Designs rub-on sentiment. I printed out more of the same paper I used for her hair to create a frame.
That’s a cool piece, fabulous image.
Oh, yes, very teen–you hit this challenge right on the head!
