Be a First Rate Version of Yourself

When I return home from a trip, it is always a challenge to get back into my studio.  I think it's the combination of all of the post-trip things that need to be done (laundry, cleaning, design team projects, etc.) and being a bit overwhelmed by the pile of fun crafting supplies I brought home from my travels … where do I begin.

I've found it works best when I just try to start with something very clean & simple to get back into the swing of things … which for me means a sketch (this week's CPS) combined with some of my new papers & embellishments.

I picked-up these beautiful Authentique papers and chipboard quotes at Scrapbook Generation in Springfield, Missouri.  Unfortunately, the die cut detail on the chipboard sentiment was cut very off-centered, so I ended-up trimming away what was supposed to be a postage stamp edge & added a grey cardstock border (***ETA – I notified the company of the product problem, and they responded very quickly & are sending me a replacement … very much appreciated).

I added several layers of Japanese Washi Tape (pink behind the grey floral pattern) before attachment my sentiment with foam tape.

With that pretty bird accompanying the Judy Garland quote, this is also perfect for the Birds or Bugs Challenge at Make My Monday.

Happy Monday!
