Reading Sparks Imagination

I am thrilled to be Guest Designing at the Inspiration Card Sketches blog for the next few weeks.  This week's layout is having fun with circles.

I wanted to make a summer-themed card … and when I think of summer, I think of reading.  When I was young I would go to the library each week and check out as many books as they would let me take home.  Then each morning after breakfast, I would sit in my bean bag chair in front of my bedroom window (praying for a breeze) as my books took me on marvelous adventures.

I am forever grateful for the wonderful teachers I had through the years who instilled in me the love of reading … and I it makes me so happy seeing my nieces and nephews embrace it today.

My card features an image and sentiment from Relish Reading by Rogue Redhead Designs.  Designer paper is My Mind's Eye Lime Twist Happy Go Lucky paper and I used dear friend Lauren's trick for a circle-scallop border.

This card will be perfect the next time I share the gift of reading.

  1. Stephanie this is wonderful! Really love the colours you used and the sweet image. I also have fond memories of reading through-out my childhood, and am passing the love for books onto my daughters too. So glad to be working alongside you at ICS x
