The Moxie Fab World Blog is celebrating all things Botanical this month, which is near and dear to my heart. One of my treasuered finds from the Strand Book Store during my trip to NYC last year was Wild Flowers of America with 400 flowers in full color from the paintings of Mary Vaux Walcott and Dorothy Falcon Platt.
The pictures are a bit large for cards, but I decided to give one a try. Unfortunately, the aged pages are so thin you can see the shadow from the flower on the reverse side of the page … however, I still love the effect. The sentiment is from Rogue Redhead Designs' Floriculture plate (which really captures the vintage botantical style).
My second card incorporates more stamps from the Floriculture plate together with this month's Sketch for You to Try.
The papers are the Botanical Collection from Prima. I added a tiny bit of colored pencil shading to the booms and a bit of ink sponging on the edges of the paper pieces to finish the design.

What a gorgeous card, so pretty and botanical!
