Packing Tape Fashion

This month at Gingersnap Creations we're celebrating Shopping with a focus on Labels and Package in our Art.  This week's Spicy Supply Challenge is to use Packaging Materials in your design.

Since my family lives all over the place, I do lots of mailing … so I have quite a stash of packaging materials, including several fun rolls of decorator packing tape that I found in the $1 bin at Michaels.  I used one with a purple design to make my background.

I was also thrilled to be working with digital elements provided to the design team by the June Sponsor – Altered Pages.  My center image is a digital collage using their Tag Alphabets & Fashion Ladies.   I printed it on cream cardstock & used colored pencils to add coordinating color to the classy suit of one of the ladies.

Since the fashion ladies reminded me of the images from a sewing pattern catalog (that I used to spend hours going through trying to decide what I wanted my grandma or mom to sew for me), I finished with a wrap of measuring tape ribbon for the Moxie Fab World "I'm Sew Excited" challenge (to incorporate sewing icons in an innovative way).
