As much as I love traveling, it's always wonderful to finally return home … particularly to my studio. I got about 60% unpacked and decided to take a break to make a card before returning to the post-vacation mayhem. I wanted to make a card inspired by this week's Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger … a great striped Ardennes Skirt from Anthropologie … although I will admit I don't think ever have or ever will own a skirt with horizontal stripes in my lifetime.
I loved the repeating stripes and the soft subdued color palette. I also like the shape of the skirt, so I incorporated that into my design as well.
I cut a standard card base & pulled out my drawer of paper tapes and just went to town … alternating spaces between & overlapping to create unexpected color combinations (like the krafty brown in the center when I overlapped the peach & mint green).
When I was finished layering the tapes, I angle-trimmed the edges, added a wrap of minty green ribbon, and a rub-on sentiment to complete the card (which works great with the slick, unevent surfaces of the overlapping tapes) … now back to laundry & unpacking. I'll be back with more vacation photos later.
Cute card…
what a great version of the trigger. Love that shape.
Stef, your take on the trigger looks awesome!
Hugs and smiles
