This week's at Jingle Belles the prompt is to celebrate the Spirit of Christmas Past by making a Vintage holiday card. It can be true vintage elements … or just a vintage style … whatever says vintage to you.
I have had some Crafty Secrets vintage holiday images in my stash for longer than I care to admit. The great thing about them is that you get so many on a sheet … which also means they last a reallllly long time. I used this week's Unscripted Sketch and was able to incorporate three of them into my vintage holiday design.
I started with gorgeous paper from the Pink Paislee Father Christmas Collection. I distressed the edges and inked with Weathered Wood Distress ink. I attached my Crafty Secrets stickers to scraps of card stock and then cut them out so they'd be sturdy enough to attach with foam tape over my wrap of linen twine.
I initally tied a bow with the linen thread at the top, but it wasn't quite substantial enough to look balanced, so I replaced it with a wrap of velvet rick-rack for some vintage texture.
such a wonderful vintage card…oh boy, this is going to be fun for me…I’m not much of a vintagey kind of gal…
Great card for the challenge-love the dp.
