On today's agenda were graduation cards … graduation cards … and more graduation cards. Despite my disdain for mass producing, I knew it was the only way I was going to finish all of the cards I needed.
Since I didn't have any good graduation stamps, I purchased the Go Graduate! digital set from Stampin' Up. When I went looking for ideas, I found this very fun Graduate Hat card by Dawn with a step-by-step video. I was able to make graduation cards in all of the different school colors I needed.
I didn't shred the ribbon like she does in her video. I decided the solid ribbon made a good tassel and was less work. I added spica glitter pen to each one to coordinate the boots with the tassel color.
It was also a great way to use up bits of ribbon I had in my scrap drawer.
I also didn't angle cut the inside like she did (again, less work when I was mass-producing). I added another sentiment from the set to the top of the card. What I liked about this card is that I was able to do it in parts (cutting … scoring … printing … tassel … etc.) for more efficient production.
Here's my stash from a day full of creating … all done … at least for now until I remember more that I need to make.
Love the mortarboard!
