Starbucks Recycling Project

The January theme at the Gingersnap Creations blog is Hot Beverages.

Last week I bought a bottle of sugar-free vanilla syrup at Starbucks, and they packaged it in a very cool and krafty recycled bag.  On the back of the bag were suggestions for re-using and recycling the bag such as making a puppet, a sketch-pad with handles, or a garden tool holder … of course my mind immediately said "I wonder if I could recycle that into a card?" … so recycle I did.

The only parts of the card that weren't recycled from the bag are the kraft card base and green border cardstock.  The rest of the design pretty much used-up every bit of the bag except for the handles (which I will of course save for a future project).

The Hero Arts Big Cup was stamped in dark brown on the green portion of the bag, embossed, and cut out.  I stamped it a second time on the lighter portion of the bag to paper piece the inside of the cup.  The pretty green border onthe edge of the bag became the "table" on which my cup sits.  And the final bits of green on the side of the bag become my flourished steam.

I have several people on my gift list who love stopping at Starbucks for a treat, so this will be the perfect card for sending a Starbucks gift card.

Hop on over to Gingersnap Creations and show us your favorite hot beverage themed designs.

PS ~ This card also works for the 7 Kids College Fund Hot or Cold … Choose Your Extreme Challenge since it uses the Big Cup sold in their store.
