Muted Masculine Snowflakes

At the Order of Opus Gluei, the theme this week is to make a manly themed card.  I decided to try to make a manly snowflake design, and I think I succeeded.  I also incorporated the Wee Memories Challenge to dust off your Patterned Paper.  The card uses this week's Card Patterns Sketch, which was perfect for these cool black matte-board Inchies from Inchie Arts.

I started planning my design with some  Christmas Rub-ons that were made to go on Great Big Brads.  They rubbed onto this Inchies lickity-split.  Hero Arts Stunning Snowflakes were stamped in Charcoal ink on Memory Box Designer paper.  I added some different size jeweled accents to the centers of the snowflakes on the Inchies and one the background.

I punched a small square, and then turned a larger square punch upside down and centered it over the small square before punching. I trimmed the end-result in half diagonally and made two photo corners.  I really love the elegance of the neutral palette with all of the sparkling snowflakes … sort of like the grey cloudy skies we often have here before the inches of white stuff begins to fall.

  1. As soon as I hit post comment I realized I didn’t say how much I like the random jewel centers, that’s a great touch too. Yes, this is reminiscent of the gray stormy look of the sky before the (dreaded) white stuff falls!
