I've said it before, I love sketches with repeating squares … it always feels sort of like quilting with paper … so I had to play along with the 100th Post Celebration at Skipping Stones Designs.
I also loved this Vintage Country Kitchen inspiration picture at The Shabby Tea Room this week, so I used it to inspire my sketch design.
The colors and kitchen theme reminded me of Webster's Papers Sweet as Cherry Pie Collection. I paired it with the fun image & sentiment from Artistic Outpost's Country Life. Hero Arts Cerulean Chalk ink was a perfect match … and I love how the subtle diamonds from the DP show through the image … they remind me of the shapes of the potholders in the inspiration photo.
I finished with a bit of Prismacolor Pencil shading on the image and some twill ribbon which seems to work with the country theme. This image reminds me of pictures of my Dad when he was young … and that makes me smile.
