Be Here Now

When I read Sue's 52-Card Pick-up theme this week concerning the importance of being here now, I knew that I wanted to use one of my favorite quotes by Henry Miller (Impression Obsession) as the focal point of my card.

The article indicates he wanted to capture a 70's vibe in the space with a "giddy, almost Pop feel to it." … love that description … and that space.

The colors were perfect for papers from Echo Park's Life is Good & A Walk in the Park Collections (and how perfect are those names for both the theme & the inspiration photo).

And for once, I also had some perfectly coordinating ribbon in my stash.  I have tons of ribbon, but it seems like my shades often seem to be slightly off from the color I usually want.

I flipped this week's Get Sketchy Sketch on the side for my layout.   I chose a bright white card base with a wide border to capture the clean white feel of the inspiration room & the window frames.   I used the bunting flag stickers from the kit to bring the pop of yellow into my design.

I finished with a single punched heart and several small butterflies accented with white pearls.

  1. What a perfectly, beautifully, wonderfully serendipitous card! Don’t you just love when the Universe orchestrates so many things to be in your space at once? Love it! PERFECT sentiment (of course)! Love, love, love the inspiration pic and the translation of it in your card. Thanks for playin’ again! (I missed you last week, but totally know and understand why…)

  2. What a fantastic quote on your card!! Thanks so much for including what the designer’s intent was. He definitely conveyed it! I haven’t done a challenge in a bit now, but when I saw that pic, I just had to jump in. :>
