As soon as I saw the Maharani Jewel Box on the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger post, my eyes were drawn to the marvelous colors and textures of the door.
As I looked at each section, I realized I had an embossing folder that almost matched each texture (Tim Holtz Woodgrain, Cuttlebug Rows of Flowers (for the life of me I can't find the actual name of that folder), Moroccan Screen, and Floral Fantasy), so I pulled out four different colors of Core'dinations cardstock and went to work. I went with a 4"x8 1/2" card base to incorporate the tall shape of the door.
I embossed, sanded each piece, and then inked with Tea Dye and Spiced Marmalade Distress inks before sanding again & attaching to the orange cardstock base.
Maharani means a female ruler in Sanskrit, which was the primary liturgical language of Buddhism, so I decided to use my Buddha image from Artistic Outpost as my focal image. It is stamped on a scrap of K&Company Que Sera Sera paper to bring in the yellows and oranges of the design.
I finished with some Turquoise gems to pull in the colors from the Jewel Box and the jewelry in the bottom drawer.
what a ♥FABULOOUS♥ eastern, textury, amazing MASTERPIECE!!! 🙂
