The theme of this week's 52-Card Pick-up is the Idea Fairy.
Call it what you want: the zone, the flow, the magical gap, the illuminating silence…there is a place in space and time where we tend to think and feel most clearly. And in that place, ahaas, creative genius, strategies, and revelations tend to flow our way.
For me, it's not a specific place or activity that leads to revelations. Instead, I've found that if I make time to create something almost every day, then the ideas keep flowing and my creativity soars (both in the studio & at the office). It's the act of doing something with that side of my brain every day (even if it's just doodling some card sketches or making a list of ideas for future cards) that produces more ideas. The key for me is making time or "leaving enough room" to make sure creativity … and thus ideas, happiness, and even joy … always have priority.
So, in that theme, I used this sentiment from Teresa Collins, together with this week's Card Patterns Sketch, for my design.
Papers are Memory Box (Primarily the Sprout Collection), which include a polka dot paper for the Simon Says Stamp Challenge. For my embellishment I layered a knotted ribbon, button & an adhesive half-pearl.
Wow Steff… this is awesome. You are so clever.
Amen and amen! My focus of late has been to organize my life so that I can do exactly what you already do – carve out time to do something creative every day. That does, in fact, create joy, doesn’t it? Thanks for sharing your thoughts as well as your beautiful card!
