One of the themes at the Hero Arts Blog this month is summer fun. For me, summer fun means flowers. I enjoy the public gardens, my neighbor's amazing yard of blooms, and the flowers in my own yard. This card is inspired by a sample I saw at Stampology during my trip to Chicago.
I used a piece of paper from a sample book discarded by our work marketing department. It was thicker than paper, but slightly thinner than chipboard, which was perfect for a version of the polished stone technique. I inked a piece of white felt with several shades of alcohol inks that included blues and a light purple, as well as lots of blending solution and covered most of the page while leaving little spots of white space. Next, I inked the Hero Arts Silhouette Bells with Blue Iris Chalk ink and stamped over the inked surface and clear embossed.
The stamped panel was trimmed and mounted on light blue cardstock. I stamped the Hero Arts From the Heart sentiment on a scrap of the inked paper.
The Core'dinations cardstock was embossed with my new Tim Holtz Dot Matrix Texture Fades embossing folder and then sanded to bring out the core color. I distressed and inked the edges and attached the panel to a dark purple card base. I placed the adhesive about 1/2" from all of the edges, so I could curl and shape the edges.

beautiful Stephanie! I have this stamp ordered!
Beautiful! Soft but striking!
you’d’ve had me anyway with any one of the following elements:
1. inky
2. distressy
3. smudgy blue
4. tim holtz e/f’s (!!!)
but the combination of all of the above is ♥KNOCKOUT♥!!!
