Birds of Hope

CaardvarksbirdcagesWhen I saw the Inspiration Photo for the March 5th Caardvarks Challenge, I remembered I had some Basic Grey Aviary stamps that had never seen ink.  I combined them with Basic Grey Porcelain Designer Papers (have you seen the awesome new collections) and this week's Sketch from CardPatterns (flipped).

I also pulled out my distressor for Allison's Everything Old is New Again ~ Forgotten Tool challenge … and for me, distressing also means pulling out my sponges to add ink to the edges.  I also adhered a bit in from the edges, so I could use my fingers to curl the sides and corners.

I outlined the birds to give them a bit more dimension & added some Zva Creative Pearl flourishes to mimic the vines on the cages in the photograph (I rubbed on some Antique Linen Distress Ink to tone down the white of the pearls).  The finishes touches included sheer ribbon, a button, and pink waxed floss.

Happy Monday!
