The ladies at 2 Sketches 4 You are celebrating their first anniversary with an ultimate card showdown. I decided to go with a masculine design for my showdown entry card. I really love the Home stamp set from Artistic Outpost. This old truck reminds me of my dad.
I created an aged look by inking the truck stamp with an old Burnt Sienna ink pad (when I replace my ink pads, I keep the old ones specifically for techniques like this). I then used a dark brown pad to ink the sentiment and spots on the truck. Then I went back over with the Burnt Sienna ink pad to blend it all together. After stamping, I sponged on some brown around the edges.
I love the aged barn wood look of Cosmo Cricket Halfway Cafe Flagstaff paper, since of course this truck would be happiest out on the farm. I finished with a piece of road map (I always save old ones after we take trips); brown brads; and the dotted wave punch from EKSuccess.
Dad will love it.
Everything about this is just perfectly chosen. A wonderful work of art. Why do I never think of doing a masculine card for these challenges??? Super idea and card!
