This is the longest I have been away from work and from my studio in a very long time. While I find the break incredibly refreshing, I also find myself missing my creative time.
Today I fed my creative muse by spending the day wandering through the many fabulous Art Galleries in Sedona … wow, lots of inspiration to be found. The outdoor kinetic sculptures at El Prado by the Creek were mesmerizing.
One thing we always try to do when we travel is find a piece of art that captures our experience … it is a way for us to fill our home with wonderful memories and bring a little bit of vacation home to our daily lives. I fell in love with a fabulous painted metal sculpture by Taya Hubbard at the Renee Taylor Gallery. They don't have our exact piece on display, but it is very similar to the one entitled Candy. Our piece is from the same Candy series, but has some beautiful Sedona red in it, as well as more variation in color and texture. The gallery is shipping it home for us, so I will show you a picture when it arrives. I can't wait to find it a place in our home.
Last night we also dined at the Fork In the Road – American Bistro … if you're ever in Sedona, I highly recommend it. How can you go ever wrong with warm chocolate pound cake with Kahlua chocolate sauce??
Also, our time at the Canyon Villa has been divine.
Enjoy the weekend … and find some time to create.
sounds like a fantastic trip.
I love the Red Rocks! ALthough, it’s been several years since I moved from Cottonwood Az….I still can see the highlights of Northern Az in my mind!! Enjoy!!!
Thanks for the update!!
