Marrakech Asian Frames

On my Saturday road trip, I picked up the new Marrakech papers from Basic Grey.  I think their papers just keep getting better with each release.  The card design uses this week's Card Positioning Systems Sketch with Hero Arts Asian Frames stamps.

Cps106close The orange Queen & Company Felt Fusion was a bit too bright for the color combination, so I toned it down by sponging on a bit of charcoal ink.

All of the images were stamped in Charcoal and clear embossed.  The largest image was stamped twice and each flower was hand-cut and attached using only a glue dot in the center for some dimension on the petals.

The sentiment from All Occasion Messages was attached at each end and curled up in the center.  The end of the sentiment was punched with a heart-punch to give it a flag-like look.  the design was finished with lots of tiny adhesive gems.

This card also works for Sharon's Stamp Simply challenge to heat it up! with embossing. I'm not sure this classifies as a simple card, but I was going for elegant.  I emboss on almost every card I make using clear Transcendence embossing powder, which works with any kind of ink.

  1. I love this card and especially appreciate that you used both the BG Marrakech paper (purchased it myself last weekend) and the HA Asian Frames. SO LOVELY. Thanks for the great inspiration.
