Joy in a Jar Inspired

Today's SCS Featured stamper is Judy (StampingQueenJAR) from Joy in a Jar.  I love Judy's work and follow her blog, so I had a lot of fun finding inspiration in her gallery … so much fun, I had to make two cards.  And of course, I had to break out some of my new purchases from yesterday's road trip.

My first card is inspired by the very first card Judy uploaded to SplitCoastStampers on March 31, 2006 ~ Sketch an Event.

I scaled down the size of the card so I could use some of my new Inkadinkado Inchie stamps.  This set is called Spring is Here(even if it's not yet, a girl can dream).  They are stamped in dark brown on scraps of cardstock, punched with a 1 1/4" square punch to leave a little frame, and clear embossed.  I pained on some Shimmerz Glitter paint for a bit of sparkle.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts Card Messages and is stamped on vellum in dark brown and clear embossed.  I finished with a couple of metal brads.

The next card is inspired by a recent card Judy did for one of the Saturday SCS Inspiration Challenges  ~ IC167 Irish Blessing.  I thought the layout would work great for a non-traditional cancer survivor card I needed to make.  I also featured the gorgeous new papers from Basic Grey called Porcelain.  I love the solid pieces with the marbled design … so perfect for stamping on.

I finished with some sheer wired ribbon I got in the floral section at Hobby Lobby.  The sentiment is Suzy Toronto from PSX.
