This week's SCS Limited Supply Challenge was to go green by recycling to create new cards. I remembered that I had saved last year's holiday cards from the office, so I pulled them out to see what I could do (instead of throwing them away, someone said … I bet Stephanie could make something with these).
The first one involved no stamping. I detached the ribbon and sentiment, cut down the card front to 4 1/4" square, & attached it to a new card base.
I repositioned the sentiment and ribbon and reattached them to the front of the card with the ribbon wrapped around the inside. I love the wonderful glitter and sparkle … and so very easy.
I also loved this elegant metallic snowflake design that was cut from the front of a holiday card. I rotated it for my card design and attached it to silver metallic DCWV cardstock.
The red strip at the bottom and the snowflake were also from the recycled card base. I stamped the Catslife Press sentiment in Maroon ColorBox Chalk on a scrap of shimmery white cardstock and clear embossed.
The final touch was an adhesive gem in the middle of the snowflake. Finished card is 4" x 7".
This is another card panel that I cut down and matted on black cardstock before attaching to a white cardstock panel. I love the fun glittery pile of snow.
The sentiment from Northwoods Rubber Stamps is stamped in Azurite ColorBox Chalk and clear embossed before matting and attaching with foam tape. The snowflake is punched from a scrap of glitter paper.
Now I just need to remember to have them save the cards for me again this year.
What a great idea and such fun cards.
